:/ Too bad the background sucks butt.

Anyways, this was originally just a warm-up. I'll post up the lineart in a couple seconds. Tell me what'cha think.

In the critiques, please don't harsh on my background, I know it sucks. =_=''

Not bad at all. I really like the way his crown looks, and that shoulder armor you've got him suits Shadow well! I also think the background works well, since it establishes a setting without being intrusive. And the coloring on his cape is just awesome!

However, there are a few things that stand out to me that keep this drawing from being an "A-plus," if you will. His left hand looks a little flat, and as such, the angle of his fingers looks kind of painful. Secondly, the position of the dust around his feet looks like he's either landing from up above or screeching, but I can't quite tell which. I can see what you were going for, and you very nearly nailed it, but I had to second guess, so I picked up on that. Finally, his top quill looks a little too round at the part where it's attached to his head. Shadow's quills tend to be a little more slicked back. But, it's only a minor complaint.

Overall, this is a solid A- grade drawing, in my view. Not quite perfect, but pretty damn close.
